Pen Pal Questions

Here are a few questions to get your students started as they write letters to their pen pals in other countries:

  • What do you usually eat for breakfast?
  • If you had to leave your home and could only take one small suitcase with you, what would you take and why?
  • If you won an award and could publicly thank three people, who would they be?
  • If you were showing a visitor around your city, what are three things you would make sure (s)he saw?
  • If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be?
  • What is your favorite holiday? What makes it your favorite?
  • How many languages can you speak? Can you teach me anything about a language besides English?
  • Who do you live with? Do you share a room with anyone or do you have your own room?
  • What do you do in your spare time?
  • What is the most unusual thing you have ever done?

For more pen pal questions, see the March 2003 issue of r•w•t™ magazine.
