Changes in TEKS & Effects on TAKS
TEA has provided a timeline for implementing changes to the math test. This timeline is available at the TEA Web site in their online newsletter for 7.31.06. The timeline is also provided below.

TAKS

Implementation of TEKS Revisions/Refinements for Grades 3-5

October, 2005	Revisions/refinements adopted in October, 2005
Fall, 2006	Districts begin implementing revisions/refinements
Spring, 2007	TAKS will assess TEKS that contain clarified language and TEKS that were not changed at all
Spring 2008	Field testing of new skills added to TAKS
Spring, 2009	TAKS may include live items for additional skills/concepts

Spring, 2006	TAKS assessed TEKS that contained clarified language and TEKS that were not changed at all

TEA will refine the TAKS Information Booklets and Study Guides as part of this process.
