CAT–Computer
Aided
Testing with
Management System
Grades K-8
In the Computer Aided Testing (CAT) format, students complete
standard-specific tests, which help evaluate the students’ performance.
The package provides Form A as a pre-test to check skills needed and
Form B as a post-test to check for mastery of those skills. CAT also
includes the TestSMART® PLUS Management and Reporting System. The
CAT series of reading and language arts tests and math tests provides a
diagnostic and placement service for the separate TestSMART® PLUS
Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) lessons (described below), and other
standards-based resources. For reading and language arts, there are 56
tests for grades 1 to 8. For math, there are 48 tests for grades K to
8. Each test measures (by standard) on level, below level, and above
level.
CAI–Computer
Aided
Instruction with
Management System
Grades K-8
In the Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) format, students work
on sequentially developed lessons directly on the computer. The lessons
cover key subjects, such as reading, language arts, mathematics, and
more! CAI also includes the TestSMART® PLUS Management and
Reporting System. The CAI curriculum for reading and language arts
allows students from grades 1+ to work independently on lessons that
cover reading, comprehension, word analysis, spelling, vocabulary
development, English usage, literature, skillful reading, citizenship,
science, and study skills. The reading and language arts series
includes 1,936 lessons. The CAI curriculum for math allows students
grades K+ to work independently on lessons that cover operations,
applications, problem solving, numbers, measurement, basic algebra,
basic geometry, remedial math, and study skills. The math series
includes 1,590 lessons.
